China's top legislator has been on a trip to Africa. Li Zhanshu is the chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. Earlier this week, he met with Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi in Maputo. The aim of the visit was to promote friendship and cooperation between the two countries. During talks with Nyusi, Li conveyed greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping. He also noted that the deep friendship between China and Mozambique is rooted in the history of their struggle against imperialism and colonialism. Li says ties between the two are growing ever stronger due to joint development efforts.
